Here is a close up of the room that the original architect set aside for a “Home Theater”. This is a good lesson for all to always contact a professional Home Theater designer and not leave it in the hands of contractors or architects. As you can see the room is woefully small for any kind of real Home Theater. The wall to the right is actually the back of the Home Theater. We were able to extend the Theater back another four feet into this otherwise useless “theater room.”
The view from the lower level gives the great feeling of being in a woodland retreat so we decided to design our work in a “earthy” nature bringing that outside feeling indoors. We were retained, of course, to do a Home Theater plus a Lobby, Kitchenette, Bar, and Butler’s Pantry. In the foreground is the bar in progress. Our unique challenge was to work around an already remodeled lower level, except for a storage room, which was unfinished and would become the Home Theater.
