When their dream home came on the market we were called in before they would close on the property to make sure we could do a proper Home Theater for them. The home sits on the best location of Derl’s home golf course. What we found was a circa 1950 remodeling of a garage into a family room with a backroom eighteen inches higher than the main room. A perfect place for the new Home Theater! This one would be large and very functional at 21x32 feet.

 

We enter “Second Time Around” through an Oak pocket door from the kitchen. You can see the Oak and granite framed gas fireplace. To the left is one of our software cabinets and to the right an over wide bar which seats five with plenty of storage below. Note the pocket ceiling with art-deco work and hidden lighting. We have a total of twelve independent lighting loads in this Theater. In this back area the floor is oak with a walnut inlay. In our larger area designs we like to incorporate eating areas because we know most of our client’s free time is spent in their Home Theater
