We continue with a look at the screen from the bar area. The screen is surrounded by a massive velvet lined shadowbox and is flanked by two Oak pillars with sconces and two 45 degree “wings” of art deco hand painted murals. Notice the art deco design is “completed” in the pocket we saw by the entrance. We did a curved stage for the speaker platforms fronted with smoked beveled mirrors. Unfortunately the picture does not do it justice. You can also see the Lexicon 700t on the table, which controls the Theater.

Another view from the stage area. Yes it was taken before the mural’s completion. “Second Time Around” is a four-level ceiling and four level floor fantasy in rich Oak trim and multi-spec paint. Inspired by “The Pit” Derl and Diane’s Home Theater is some of our best work . We paid special attention to the acoustics because Derl was never quite pleased with his audio system performance, but choose to keep it from his original Home Theater. His system never sounded better. Even we were impressed at the audio improvement “Second Time Around” made! Do you agree Home Theaters along with love can be lovelier the second time around?

The view from the left front of the stage. We can now see the entrance to the left, the equipment and software cabinets and the seating areas, including the bar. You can also note the gentle slope of the ceiling and the framed in projector. We faced the ceiling transition with gold leaf paint highlighted by lighting hidden by the oak crown molding.

Close up of the equipment cabinet accessible from the back. This is the leftover of the old laundry room!

The wall opposite the mural consists of Oak Pillars and wainscoting divided in three sections. A shelf above the wainscoting hides rope light that adds a nice “glow” to the warm oak finish.  The walls are finishised in black short-nap carpeting, a perfect place for movie posters.
