This
is the before view from the screen wall. We framed around the original steps.
The last step became a landing platform and the back tier for seating. Between
the windows is where the gas fireplace went and the pillar on the right was
eliminated. Behind the steps became a hallway and beyond that a storage area.

We designed the plat forming for the furniture, which was ordered before
construction started. You can see on the right, at the foot of the stairs,
the equipment cabinet, which is accessible from the storage area. You can
also see the stair rail system consisting of wrought iron and oak, which
was built on-site.
